As our teeth are a large part of our overall appearance, one of the most common cosmetic enhancements that can be made to improve the smile is teeth whitening. We can treat a single tooth that has developed a stain, or enhance the overall aesthetics of the face by brightening the entire smile. In our office, our dental expert team provides both in-office teeth whitening and at-home teeth whitening treatments near Bloomington, IL. We have several convenient options to choose from, including:

Philips Zoom! Whitening

Treatment begins with 1 in office visit that combines whitening gel and visible LED ZOOM! light to produce maximum whitening results in the shortest time possible. Custom trays are then worn 1 night per month to maintain your desired level of whitening.

Although results from any teeth whitening treatment can last from months to years, there is no way to avoid future stains completely. Therefore, many of our patients maintain results through short whitening sessions performed as needed through our Whitening for Life program.

Teeth Whitening FAQs

Why do teeth lose their brightness over time?

Tooth discoloration develops gradually as enamel is exposed to staining substances and natural wear. Foods, drinks, and everyday habits can leave behind pigments that settle into the surface of the teeth. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, whitening treatments are designed to address these changes by lifting built-up stains and restoring a cleaner, brighter appearance that enhances the overall look of your smile.

What options are available for professionally whitening my teeth?

There are multiple professional whitening approaches depending on your preferences. Some treatments are completed in the dental office for quicker results, while others allow you to whiten your teeth more gradually at home. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, both options are available, giving you flexibility to choose a method that works best with your schedule, comfort level, and desired outcome.

What should I expect from an in-office whitening visit?

An in-office whitening appointment focuses on improving tooth color in a relatively short amount of time. A whitening solution is applied and monitored throughout the visit to ensure even coverage and consistent results. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, this process is performed with attention to detail so patients can leave their appointment with a noticeably refreshed and brighter smile.

How do custom take-home whitening trays work?

Take-home whitening systems use trays that are created specifically to fit your teeth. These trays help hold the whitening gel in place, allowing for steady and controlled application. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, patients receive detailed instructions on how to use their trays so they can gradually improve the color of their teeth while maintaining convenience and flexibility.

Will my whitening results stay the same over time?

Whitening results can last for an extended period, but they are not permanent. Over time, exposure to staining substances may gradually affect the brightness of your teeth again. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, patients are provided with maintenance options and guidance to help preserve their results and keep their smile looking refreshed between treatments.

Is professional whitening designed to minimize sensitivity?

Professional whitening treatments are selected and applied with patient comfort in mind. While some individuals may notice temporary sensitivity, it is usually mild and short-lived. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, treatment plans can be adjusted based on your comfort level, helping you achieve noticeable improvements in tooth color while keeping the experience as comfortable as possible.

Can whitening treatments be tailored to my goals?

Teeth whitening is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Some patients prefer a subtle improvement, while others want a more dramatic change in brightness. At Eastland Dental Center in Bloomington, IL, your dentist will work with you to determine the right approach based on your expectations, timeline, and lifestyle so your results feel natural and aligned with your goals.
