Save your teeth with affordable cavity fillings near Normal, IL

Have you been noticing a sensitive spot on your tooth but you’re afraid to visit the dentist in case you have a cavity that needs treatment? Putting off treatment may end up costing more in the end, so you should make sure you are visiting your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings. If your dentist near Normal, IL notices any cavities at a check-up, he can place affordable fillings that could save your smile.

Cavities are essentially weak spots in a tooth where harmful bacteria have been able to eat into the tooth’s enamel. Cavities are a sign of dental decay, and if they are not stopped soon enough, your tooth may become so badly decayed that it must be removed. A bad cavity may cause a toothache or sensitivity to hot and cold, but usually only your dentist will be able to notice the beginning stages of a cavity.

When you visit Eastland Dental Center as often as we suggest, Dr. Milligan and the team can keep your teeth clean and free of damaging hardened plaque that can eat away at your enamel. As the hygienist cleans your teeth, she will also check for soft spots that could become cavities and give you tips for cleaning your teeth better so cavities don’t develop. If a cavity does develop, the dentist will clean all the plaque out of the cavity and place a filling to stop the decay from progressing.

At Eastland Dental Center, we believe in providing our patients with the latest and most advanced dental treatments. That is why we offer strong tooth-colored fillings rather than metal fillings that make your smile look unattractive and have a number of other problems. Tooth-colored fillings are now very durable and can be colored to match your tooth perfectly. The result is that you will likely notice no change in the way your smile looks or feels, but you will have a solid filling to stop any further dental decay. If it’s been a while since you’ve visited the dentist or you think one of your teeth may be developing a cavity, stop by our office near Normal, IL for a check-up.
