Emergency Dentistry

Your emergency dentist has solutions you can trust

There are several factors that play into our level of well-being, oral health being one of them. When our teeth and gums are unhealthy, they tend to look like it. We may also struggle with embarrassing bad breath. The emotional toll of untreated dental problems can be heavy. The presence of issues like oral bacteria and infection can also create unhealthy responses throughout the body. Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan are dentists who are committed to the provision of outstanding preventive dental care, doing what they can to help patients avoid dental emergencies.

There is a lot to be said about prevention as the best medicine when it comes to oral health. What sends a lot of people to their emergency dentist is actually pretty normal. Of course, there is a need for urgent care if a tooth or the gums have been injured in some way. The primary reason we see folks in our Bloomington, Illinois, office on an emergency basis is actually to relieve tooth pain.

We encourage our patients, whether they have been seen in our office for years, are new to our practice, or are just traveling through our area, to contact our office for treatment even when mild tooth pain occurs. Common dental problems like cavities and gum disease are progressive, which means they will only get worse in time. If care is received when a tooth or teeth feel only slight sensitivity or pain only when a cold or sugary substance is consumed, there is a much greater chance that intense pain will not occur.

Even more important to consider is that pain means there is a problem in a tooth or in the gums. If care is not received for this problem, the tooth, gum tissue, surrounding tissues, and teeth are susceptible to damage. The greater the damage, the more likely it is that pain will occur and that more extensive treatment will be required to eliminate the problem.

Eastland Dental Center provides solutions to your dental concerns. Handle them before intense pain keeps you from thoroughly enjoying life. Call (309) 663-4711 today to schedule your visit with Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan.
