Teeth Cleanings

The process of receiving a good teeth cleaning by Bloomington dentist

Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan of Eastland Dental Center are well aware of the importance of a good teeth cleaning. Bloomington area residents can visit his practice and receive a professional teeth cleaning and examination when necessary to help maintain a healthy, beautiful smile. While brushing and flossing your teeth every day is beneficial, there are still areas on the teeth that can be hard to reach and can develop plaque and bacteria. By having a professional cleaning at Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan’s office, you can ensure that you are keeping periodontal disease at bay!

When you schedule a hygiene appointment with Drs. Mike or Marisa Milligan, you can rest assured that you will have a thorough and complete examination. We check for everything during your appointment, including analyzing your bite, checking for cavities, and completing an oral cancer screening. Using laser devices, we can kill any bacteria that may be present in your mouth, and we can provide a deep, professional cleaning. This will not only ensure that your teeth are free from plaque and tartar but give your mouth that fresh feeling as you leave the dental office!

At our practice, we also offer recommendations in terms of products that you can use to maintain your oral health at home. Daily dental care is essential to maintaining a clean and healthy smile between appointments. Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan often suggest the Mouth Watcher’s toothbrush, which is a specialized brush that self-sterilizes and cleans better than any other manual toothbrush on the market. This brush is s fabulous way to ensure that your teeth stay clean and can help with the reversal of symptoms that are associated with periodontal disease. For a great power brush, we often recommend Sonicare. A good oral health care routine at home is very beneficial between your hygiene visits and examinations in our dental office.

There is nothing more enjoyable than a good teeth cleaning. Bloomington residents are encouraged to talk to Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan of Eastland Dental Center about the intervals at which they should schedule recall appointments. Patients who are dealing with the treatment of periodontal disease or other conditions may need to have more frequent appointments scheduled anywhere from three to six months apart, while other patients may only need to have annual examinations and cleanings. As Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan better understand your dental health, they can offer recommendations as to how often you should be seen at their practice.
