How affordable are dental implants in Bloomington?

Dental implants are among the most requested treatments at our Bloomington, IL office. They are considered the preferred solution for missing teeth, with many unique benefits. One of the most common concerns is cost, which is far more affordable than you might expect.

Financial cost of implants vs alternatives

You’ve probably heard that implants are more expensive than dentures or bridges. That is actually a partial truth. While the upfront price may be higher, implants tend to be more economical in the long-term.

  • A traditional bridge will likely need to be replaced periodically, meaning that it is not a one-time expense.
  • Without implants, the bone gradually shrinks over time. A standard denture is made to conform to the inside of the mouth. It needs to be relined or replaced regularly in order to maintain a proper fit, entailing ongoing expenses.
  • Dental implants fuse with the jawbone, mimicking the function of tooth roots. Like natural teeth, they can last a lifetime if you maintain good oral health.

Beyond dollars and cents: Calculating the whole cost

Everyone has a budget. Naturally, you are going to consider the initial and long-term price of various options. However, saving money at the price of your health is not a good deal.

  • At this time, dental implant treatment is the only way to prevent bone resorption in the jaw following tooth loss. Keeping your bone healthy and strong helps reduce the risk of fracture, preserve facial structure, and facilitate optimal jaw functionality.
  • Implants restore full chewing efficiency, which is important for proper digestion.
  • Unlike traditional bridges, implants do not require any alteration to your natural teeth.

If you are seeking a healthy, beautiful, long-lasting solution for missing teeth, call (309) 663-4711 and schedule a consultation to find out if you’re a good candidate for dental implants.
