Dental Implants cost Bloomington IL

Titanium isn’t just for the golf course. It turns out; it is used in dental implants as well. Part of the reason is because of a process called osseointegration. This means that the bone and the titanium implant fuse together which makes the implant that much more secure. If you have lost a tooth or more than one, you should consider an implant. Of course, the next natural question concerns what dental implants cost.

There are two basic questions when considering the cost of a dental implant. The first has to do with how much it will cost if you decide against an implant. The other has to do with the financial cost of getting the implant.

If you have lost one or more teeth, you have to do something about the space. If you don’t, it’s possible for the remaining teeth to drift out of place. This can cause many problems. If you decide to go with a fixed or removable bridge, you must have a healthy tooth on each side of the bridge. If you don’t, the only alternative is a denture.

Both bridges and dentures have their issues. A bridge requires special care. It must be cleaned, and gums must be cared for which can be problematic with a bridge. A denture has even more issues. It must be cleaned but, while it does slow down issues with the jaw and shape of the face, eventually, the jaw will start to recede more quickly than it would have if the teeth had remained in place.

An implant eliminates most if not all of these problems. Once the implant has properly fused with the bone, that’s it. A crown is placed over the implant. That healthy artificial tooth can act as an anchor for a bridge or take its place in the mouth the same way a healthy tooth would.

The final question has to do with dollars and sense. Truthfully, the price tag for an implant and a crown is going to be between $2,000 and $4,000 depending on the materials used and your location. When you consider the alternative, it makes sense to spend the dollars. Your mouth will thank you. When you add it all up, the benefits of dental implants far exceed any cost. They are most like a natural tooth and can give a lifetime of service.
