One of the goals of your dentist is to help you keep your teeth for a lifetime. As much as we may try to avoid damage to the teeth and gums, we understand that tooth loss cannot be avoided in every situation. Whether a result of decay, trauma, or gum disease, our focus after tooth loss is to find the most suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Tooth loss is not only a cosmetic problem but also an issue that may pose a threat to oral health. A gap in the smile does not look good and may cause you to feel embarrassed about the appearance of your smile. The repercussions of this gap can be even worse. The changes to the overall jaw structure after tooth loss may include misalignment due to shifting into the gap and also the loss of healthy bone structure in the jaw. To stop these problems, Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan may suggest dental implants. As experienced dentists in the Normal area, Drs. Mike and Marisa Milligan have successfully treated hundreds of patients facing tooth loss.
Initially, dental implant treatment may take longer to complete, and the upfront costs may also be a bit high. In the long term, however, the time and investment put into the smile pay huge rewards.
Tooth loss does not have to change your life in a negative way. Call Eastland Dental Center at (309) 663-4711 to learn more about implant treatment.
