There are many steps that we take to keep our bodies healthy. We choose healthy foods, try to get enough sleep each night, and exercise when we can. This is where we tend to stop. One important factor in health, we are learning, is what goes on in the mouth. The more we learn, the more it becomes clear that a vital part of total health is regular visits with your dentist in Bloomington IL.
Oral health is intimately connected with general health. By taking care of your teeth and gums, then, you are helping the health of your entire body. Brushing your teeth twice a day, and flossing at least once every day, are practices that go a long way in guarding oral health, and promoting a healthy body. To your oral hygiene routine, regular dental exams and cleanings should be added.
At Eastland Dental Center, Dr. Milligan carefully evaluates the health of teeth, gums, and other tissues in the mouth. In addition to physical examination of the mouth, we take x-rays when necessary, to gain an in-depth view of areas we cannot readily see with the naked eye. Routine dental visits also include professional cleaning with our skilled hygienist. The gentle cleanings performed twice a year are effective at removing any plaque that has built up, inhibiting the activity of oral bacteria. When you leave our office after your routine dental visit, your smile will be brighter, your breath fresh, and your confidence soaring knowing you have taken steps towards a healthier life.
Twice a year dental visits are encouraged so that we can keep your smile looking its best. This time span also allows for the earliest detection of any developing dental problems, such as cavities or gum disease. This equates to a decreased risk of pain, and more conservative treatment when it is needed. Waiting years to see your dentist could mean the difference between a small filling and the need for a root canal.
We offer an array of dental services that allow us to provide truly personalized care to patients of all ages. We understand that, at different ages, there may be specific needs, and are careful to address those with the most appropriate treatment.
